The 18th Annual CARE Awards Breakfast in October 2010 honored 14 companies for their commitment to family-friendly policies and benefits.

2010 CARE Awards Breakfast

On Thursday, October 28th, Northern Virginia Family Service and hundreds of supporters celebrated the 18th annual CARE Awards.  Fourteen winning companies were honored for their family-friendly policies in the workplace.

Over 350 attendees networked over coffee and sat down to breakfast where they were greeted by NVFS President and CEO, Mary Agee.  Guests then heard from keynote speaker, Bill Hoover, President and CEO of American Systems Consulting, Inc.  Hoover,  who has held executive positions with several key companies over the years, gave a number of tips on how to run a successful workplace and have happy and satisfied employees.

CARE committee chair, George Lane, and committee member, Misti Mukherjee, announced each of the 14 winners.  Every winning company then took a moment to tell the crowd about their business practices, family friendly activities and policies, which allow the company and their valued employees to succeed.

A great time was had by all and numerous approaches on how to make Northern Virginia a happier, healthier place to live and work were shared.  To see some of the winning companies' best practices, click here.
