Welcome to SERVE!
Established 35 years ago, SERVE is a Manassas-based community organization. SERVE's programs includes shelter, a food distribution center, transitional housing, emergency assistance and life skills education for individuals and families in need. Our service area is Western Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

SERVE's vision:
No person in our community will have to be homeless, no child will have to go to bed hungry and no family will lose their dignity or let their dreams die because of poverty.

How SERVE helps:
  • Our 60-bed emergency shelter provides a safe place to sleep and three meals a day for 85 families and 225 single adults each year. Children occupy 41% of the bed-nights.
  • Over 900 families receive food each month at our food distribution center, which is the largest food bank in Prince William County.
  • Twelve transitional homes provide up to 24 months of affordable housing for families and individuals who pay rent subsidized at 30% of their income ensuring that they have a stable living environment while working towards self-sufficiency.
  • Almost 80 families each month receive financial assistance helping them pay rent and keep their electricity running.

Our values:
We believe families are at the heart of our society and that they need to be strengthened and preserved. Services should be accessible, affordable and of high quality. Everyone should have access to adequate and safe housing, food and support,
